FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear operational answers for importers evaluating Vancouver transloading, bonded, and sufferance options.
What is a 3PL warehouse?
A 3PL (third-party logistics) warehouse is a facility operated by an external provider that handles storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment on behalf of a business. Instead of managing your own warehouse, you outsource those operations to a 3PL partner like Transpac, which provides the facility, staff, systems, and carrier connections.
What warehousing services does Transpac provide?
Transpac provides managed warehousing from an 80,000 sq ft facility in Surrey, BC. Services include inventory receiving and put-away, location-based stock management, bonded and sufferance-controlled storage, cross-docking, and outbound staging. The facility has 10 loading docks and 24/7 surveillance.
What is the difference between warehousing and fulfillment?
Warehousing covers the storage and management of inventory — receiving, put-away, location tracking, and inventory control. Fulfillment is the active process of picking, packing, and dispatching orders to end customers or distribution points. Transpac handles both as one connected workflow from the same Surrey facility.
Can inventory flow directly from transloading into your warehouse?
Yes. Transpac's transloading and warehousing operations run from the same Surrey facility. Cargo devanned from import containers can be staged directly into warehouse inventory without a secondary transfer or additional drayage cost.
What fulfillment services do you offer?
Fulfillment services include inbound inventory receiving, storage, pick-pack processing, shipping label generation, outbound dispatch to parcel or palletized freight channels, and returns handling. Scope is confirmed based on order profile and volume requirements.
What marketplace integrations do you support?
Transpac supports fulfillment workflows with marketplace integrations including Amazon, Shopify, and eBay through the Goorooship platform, with order routing, label generation, and shipment-status visibility.
Can you support both B2B and B2C fulfillment from the same facility?
Yes. The Surrey facility handles both palletized B2B replenishment programs and direct-to-consumer parcel dispatch. Order profiles are configured based on destination type, compliance requirements, and volume.
Do you offer warehousing from Toronto as well?
Yes. Transpac operates a 20,000 sq ft facility near Toronto Pearson (YYZ) for Central and Eastern Canada distribution. Inventory can be positioned across both Vancouver and Toronto hubs depending on your national distribution plan.
Can Transpac support bonded or sufferance warehouse storage?
Yes. The Surrey facility supports CBSA sufferance and bonded warehouse workflows for short-term in-bond holding and duty-deferral storage. See our bonded warehouse and sufferance warehouse service pages for details on those specific workflows.
Who provides fulfillment services in Vancouver?
